I may come across as a weirdo but I really don't care because I don't think I'm the only one who does this. My dog Freddie is very smart. We have some intense conversations.

Sure they are one-sided, but this dog knows me and understands my actions and emotions. I was under the weather for a few days and Freddie wouldn't leave my side. When I was coughing, he would come up along side of me, lay next me and give me a look as if to say, "I hope you feel better, you sound awful". I looked right back at him and told him that a nice doctor gave me an antibiotic and I should be better in a few days. Satisfied, he got down off the bed and went into the living room.

He also senses that we are going away. Just the other day, he saw me take out my suitcase. He immediately got up on the bed next to the suitcase and sat at attention. I snuggled his face and told him that we were going away for a few days, but that meant that he was also going on vacation. He perked right up and got excited because he knew he would be seeing all of his dog friends again.

Freddie gets me...I get him. We have a special bond. Call me crazy, that's okay. Freddie is my boy.
