Forbes Magazine announced 2011's richest people in the world.  This year is also the 25th anniversary of Forbes' Billionaire List.  You will find the new list includes many names popular in the tech world and in entertainment.  Some of those names you will see close to the top, but who is this year's biggest money maker?

Well the big winner is not a resident of the U.S. if you thought it was going to be Bill Gates or Warren Buffett.  The richest person in the world for 2011 is Mexican media and telecom entrepreneur, Carlos Slim Helu.

Helu earned $74 billion, with a $20.5 billion increase over the last year.  Gates (CEO of Microsoft) came in second this year.  According to Forbes, Gates is worth $56 billion while Buffett (investment genius) came in at $50 billion.  Both men increased their wealth this year by $3 billion.

Forbes includes a total of 1,210 names on its billionaire list.  Other names you might recognize are New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg at No. 30; Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg at No. 52; Apple CEO Steve Jobs at No. 110; Oprah Winfrey at No. 420; movie producers Steven Spielberg & George Lucas; and author J.K. Rowling.
