Five Albany Area Places To Take Dad To Eat On Father’s Day
This Sunday is Father’s Day. It’s a time to celebrate the man who has taken care of you while you grew up. He helped you with those school projects and fixed your broken toys. He helped put food on the table and gave us a roof over our head. My dad has been gone and I miss him a lot. Dad passed away 22 years ago and there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think about him. If he was here, I would love to treat him to dinner at one of these great Albany area restaurants, although if Valerie or Jayson (my kids) are reading this, you can take me to them.
1) Villa Valenti - Wynatnskill
Villa Valenti has a great menu with many Italian favorites. I prefer the chicken parmigiana, but love the salad bar. One of these days, I’m going to just get the salad bar.
2) Red Robin - Various locations including Latham and Clifton Park.
Red Robin has a fantastic selection of different kinds of burgers, and continuous French Fries, although I’ve never been able to eat more than one serving.
3) Pizza Central – Colonie
My kids know that they can take me out for pizza anytime. In my opinion, Pizza Central has some of the best pizza in the area. Not to mention other items on the menu including fried chicken.
4) Pig Pit – Cohoes
Pig Pit is my favorite for great barbecue chicken dinner. They have some excellent side dishes to choose from. The ribs are fantastic too. I think they’re the best barbecue place in the area.
5) Delmonicos – Colonie
Delmonicos features a menu with great Italian dishes, plus steak and seafood. I go between the veal parmigiana, a grilled salmon dinner if it’s on the specials list or one of the great steak dinner choices.
Happy Father’s day to all the dads. Where do you like your kids to take you to?
