Fire Injures Seven People And Closes Schenectady City Hall

Fire broke out this early this morning in Schenectady on Jay Street.

One person remains unaccounted for, one man was taken to Albany Medical Center Burn Unit after he was forced to jump from the 5th floor, another individual has been taken to the Westchester Burn Unit and five additional people are reported with non life threatening injuries.

The fire has caused City Hall to close Friday. Street closures are also in effect on Liberty St. from Lafayette St. to Broadway. Franklin St. near City Hall is closed and Clinton St. is closed until further notice.

City Hall is currently being used as a temporary shelter.
