Fire Alarm Causes Evacuation Of Colonie Center

A fire alarm forced an evacuation of Colonie Center on Sunday evening.

According to a story from the Times Union, it was a false alarm, and ended up not being an emergency. According to a manager from Regal Cinemas, it was some sort of a popped sprinkler that set off the alarm. Diners in the Five Guys restaurant didn’t leave while the alarm was ringing.

I’ve been in Crossgates Mall when the alarm went off. I admit it – I stayed where I was and didn’t leave. This brought a couple of questions to mind – When you’re in a store or a mall and you hear the alarm sounding, do you leave the building or do you just keep on doing whatever you were doing? If you stay there, what is that you’re waiting for?
