Fidget Spinners Dangers

A couple of months ago, I learned what a fidget spinner was and the madness that came along with this toy. Ryan is still pretty obsessed with these little toys but now we all need to be aware of the dangers.A consumer watchdog group World Against Toys Causing Harm (W.A.T.C.H) is listing the fidget spinner as one of the top 10 most dangerous and hazardous toys. I can see how too. There have been several times that Ryan is playing with these (and he has a few different ones) where the bearings and little circular pieces have come loose.

We have talked to him about not putting them in his mouth, but that is very difficult to watch a six year old every minute while playing with these. In fact, one time, his mom saw him put it in his mouth and took them away for a day. There is such a possibility of a choking hazard with these toys and consumer groups are trying to enforce choking hazard warnings on the toys themselves.

There is a US company called Micro Spinners who is working on spinners with fused parts so nothing small can break off. In the meantime, please be aware of the hazards and heed the warnings with these toys that every kid has to have.
