The FBI finally found a fugitive they've spent the last 16-years looking for, in Santa Monica, California.  81-year old James "Whitey" Bulger, the mob boss of South Boston's vicious Winter Hill Gang, was discovered living as an elderly retiree in a seaside city apartment.

More than a dozen FBI agents took numerous bags of evidence out of the apartment once Bulger and his live in companion, Catherine Greig, were apprehended.  The bureau recently put out a series of daytime TV announcements with pictures of Bulger and Greig, stating the blonde 60-year old woman frequently went to beauty salons and to get her teeth whitened.  Two-days later, the FBI received a tip on their whereabouts.

If you saw the movie, "The Departed," starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Jack Nicholson, and Matt Damon Nicholson's character was modeled after Bulger.  Bulger was the FBI's most wanted man.  He's been feared by many since being on the run since 1995.  He has also been linked to 19 murders.  In 2002, his lieutenants testified of Bulger bragging about how he corrupted six FBI agents and more than 20 Boston police officers.

Bulger appeared Thursday afternoon in a Los Angeles federel courtroom and has been ordered to return to and face charges in Massachusetts.

Here is the trailer for Martin Scorsese's "The Departed."  If you've never seen this movie, it's very good and the ending is unbelievable!  Check it out:
