Over the weekend, Ryan got a touch of the stomach bug and we used every precaution to make sure we didn't get it. Monday, I thought it finally got me, but then I realized that it wasn't a bug it was a lapse in judgement.

I had a turkey burger and dressed it with mayo and ketchup. Two hours went by and all of a sudden I was hunched over with stomach cramps. I swore it was the stomach bug. I reviewed what I ate for the day and remembered the mayo.

As I was relieved that it wasn't the bug, I was so mad that I didn't check the expiration date. I am so much better than that. I am a stickler with dates. Jenn is too. We always dump milk, eggs even yogurt if it is within a day.

I know some people who don't care about the dates. Brian Cody is one of them. He once ate yogurt that was a week past due. He has also eaten things that were well past their best if used by dates. I don't know how people can do that. They must have a stomach of steel.

So which one are you? Are you a stickler for expiration dates or do you throw caution to the wind and risk it?
