Excited for Countryfest 2017? Me Too! Here’s Why…

It may be winter, but there's that feeling in the air.

You can almost hear the sounds of excited country fans across the Capital Region, each bursting with smiles and topped with a cowboy hat ready to party and sing along the day away.

The announcement of Countryfest 2017 to kick off the New Year might be one of the most deliciously anticipating surprises.

Marking the calendar with the date: July 8th, a Saturday right in the heart of the Summer season. The biggest country party of the year and the lineup so far proves that to be a fact: Justin Moore, Randy Houser and Michael Ray. Each artist brings a taste of old country, blended with a sound that makes them perfect for todays country flare!

One of my first big concerts working with GNA happened to be Justin Moore when he performed at the Glens Falls Civic Center. He might not be the biggest guy around, but he knows how to command a stage. And ladies - his jeans are mighty tight (just sayin'.)

I haven't had the opportunity to witness Randy Houser just yet in person, though I have been hearing so many stories of his performance at the Taste of Country Music Festival from a couple years ago. It turns out that his bus broke down and left him alone on stage with just a guitar and someone else playing a piano that was already on site. It turned into one of the coolest, most intimate performances that many had ever seen. I can only imagine what he'll provide to the Countryfest stage!

Michael Ray was at the first Secret Star Jam I got to be a part of. I'll say this, his chiseled jaw and striking good looks caught my eye (as they did for many) but as soon as he opened his mouth and that deep, silky, smooth voice took over the Proctors Theatre and hypnotized everyone. He was an instant favorite for me. Rightfully so. I'm anxious to hear him belt out, "Kiss You In the Morning" and maybe even present some new stuff for us, too!
