Meet the Teachers!
Georgia W. Tush, Montreal Roller Derby - New Skids on the Block, Owner – Neon Skates
Haley Contagious, Boston Derby Dames – Boston Massacre, Jam Coach for Mass Maelstrom (#6 MRDA)
Flyin' King, Boston Derby Dames – Boston Massacre
The above superstars will be teaching the Skating Clinics! One 2 1/2 hour 'class' will focus on positional blocking, proper hitting form, skating as a pack, and many other skills necessary to be an effective blocker/pivot on the track. It will also cover skating form, footwork, speed control and more jammer specific skills. These clinics are open to all genders. Skating classes will be divided into two sessions to allow a more personalized experience. Please select a "Beginner" or "Advanced" ticket to choose a session. The beginner course will be great for skaters from fresh meat (scrimmageable) to 2 or 3 yrs experience. Consider it a B-Team level course. The advanced class will cover many of the same topics, in further detail or difficulty, and be great for A-level travel team skaters.
Goldie Gloves, Officials Coordinator at Mass Attack Roller Derby
Sheila E. Ject'Ya, Head Referee at Hartford Area Roller Derby
These rule-savvy ladies will be leading the Officiating Clinic! They will discuss and officiate real in-bout scenarios, cover required and optional paperwork, and review official to official, and official to skater communication. All officiating positions will be discussed in detail, and then later staffed at a scrimmage. This is geared to the new to moderately experienced officials, both skating and non-skating. Things to bring: Whistle, notebook, pens, clipboard, stopwatch.
*Additional teachers being confirmed, teachers subject to change*
