There recently have been at least 10 cases of the enterovirus D-68 reported at the Albany Medical Center hospital.

The enterovirus D-68 causes an increase for respiratory illnesses in children, which is believed by experts that those children haven’t had protection or immunity from previously being exposed to these kind of viruses. Some of the symptoms of this illness include sneezing, runny nose, difficulty breathing, fever and coughing.

In the story from News 10 ABC, it is suggested that you should talk to your primary care physician if your child might have some of these symptoms, but appears to be well. They can direct you as to what you need to do, whether it’s take the child to the emergency room, or possibly just make an office visit.

In another story from News 10 ABC, there was a report of a child that was diagnosed with the virus from the Greenville Central School District.
