Encrypted Credit Card PINs Stolen From Target

There’s more bad news for some shoppers at Target.

Richie did a story last week about credit card information being stolen from some shoppers at Target. According to the story in USA Today, it has now been confirmed that there has also been encrypted PIN information lifted from those accounts.

A statement was issued by Molly Snyder, a Target spokeswoman that said “they remain confident that PIN numbers are safe and secure”.  Cardholder accounts will not be compromised because of this recent issue.

Several investigations are underway by the Consumer Financial  Protection Bureau and the United States Department Of Justice.
