Elderly Woman Mugged At Halfmoon Walmart

An elderly woman was mugged in the Halfmoon Walmart parking lot Wednesday.

Police are reporting that the woman was loading her purchases into her car when a vehicle swerved toward her, almost hitting her, and stole her purse right out of her cart.
The vehicle, driven by Paul Filkins, 22 of Malta and Aaron Griffin, 26 of Round Lake was later spotted by police and the pair were pulled over. Filkins, who was the vehicle operator, was charged with Reckless Endangerment. Both men, Filkins and Griffin, were charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance.

The woman was treated by EMS at the scene and is ok. This story has a happy ending, as the woman’s belongings were returned to her. She was leaving Walmart and headed to the cemetery where she was going to place flowers on her husband’s grave when the incident occurred.
