Eating While Driving Could Get You A Ticket?
Are we going a little crazy with "distracted driving?"
I am all for distracted driving when it comes to texting and talking on our cell phones. But, where is the line? I ask as I just read a story where a man in Georgia was pulled over and ticketed for "driving while eating". YES EATING!
I do this almost daily! Whether you go through the drive through or bring your breakfast with you, we all drive and eat. Come on, you know you do! Should we be ticketed for this? I don't think so. Then I have to wonder, what is eating while driving? The man who was ticketed was eating a hamburger. What if he was eating fries, would that be ok? Is it because he had to hold the burger? I think you get my point. This just baffles me!
Can you imagine if you could be ticketed for drinking coffee while driving! NO!
Now, I also don't think women should be doing their make up while driving, although I know those that do are super proud of their talent. But, looking in the mirror and not looking at the road is a bad idea. But, eating?
Am I wrong or is this yet another slippery slope. Pretty soon we won't be able to talk to those in our cars while we drive!
What do you think?
