Easter is this weekend, and I’m sure you and your kids will be decorating eggs. The first step in that process is hard boiling two dozen eggs. Sure you may only need one dozen, but to decorate, but between my brothers and I, I would break at least a dozen in the process of decorating!

Here is how to hard boil eggs in the oven:

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.

Arrange the eggs on a mini muffin tin (see below). Place them on their side so the yolks stay in the middle, and use a mini muffin pan so they don’t roll all over.

It doesn't matter if you are making 1 or 24, the cooking time is the same — 30 minutes! After the eggs come out of the oven, move them immediately to an ice bath. This will make them much easier to peel if you are making egg salad, or just easier to handle if your kids are decorating the eggs!

And here’s how to decorate them using shaving cream:

1. Spread cheap white shaving cream in a cookie sheet.
2. Apply drops of neon food coloring across surface.
3. Use toothpicks to swirl colors around.
4. Roll the dried, cooled, hard-boiled eggs in the colorful cream.
5. Allow to set for 3-4 minutes on a paper plate.
6. Wipe off shaving cream with paper toweling.
7. Rinse eggs, and you will have beautiful marbleized eggs!
