A fire started in the Dunkin' Donuts off of exit 12 in Malta around 3AM on Thursday morning.  The 10 year old store on Dunning Street also housed offices and a distribution center for the area.

The store was not open at the time of the fire, and reports are saying that everyone in the building at the time of the blaze made it out safely.

7 area fire companies were called to the scene, according to officials.  And at this point, it's being considered a total loss.  Ice and the weather were cited as reasons why this fire was hard to fight.  Crews are still working on hot spots this morning.

A cause for the fire is still under investigation, but Malta Ridge Fire Chief said it appeared the fire started in the back of the building near the ovens.
