Dropped Fuel Tank Cause Of Yesterday’s Northway Backup

Luckily this ended up ok, but yesterday evening the Northbound side of the Northway was shut down as crews cleaned up a potentially dangerous mess.

A tractor trailer literally had a fuel tank fall off and that meant a cleanup was in order. The highly flammable fuel had to be washed off the road before police could let traffic through again. The incident happened at about 7:00pm just north of the Twin Bridges and the northbound lane of the Northway was opened again close to midnight. No injuries were reported. More details here.
