What a race at Dover this weekend!

If you missed this weekend’s race at Dover, you missed what I think was the best race of the season so far.  This race has it all, cautions, wrecks, drama, penalties and great racing!

Matt Kenseth came away with the victory Sunday, holding off Kyle Larson and Chase Elliot.  This win was the first win of the season for Kenseth and the best finish to date for both Larson and Elliott!

For me, these are the 2 events that made this race so exciting.

  1. Watching Reed Sorenson spin out and leak oil over the track. Then, Jimmie Johnson spins out hitting the oil and caused Kevin Harvick to come to a dead stop (and stall) to avoid a wreck.  Both Johnson and Harvick lost a ton of spots.  But after a restart, they both moved up quickly passing car after car to say in the race.  Amazing driving!
  2. My second favorite, I am sure is everyone's favorite too!  The massive, 18-car pile-up causing the red flag to come outJimmie Johnson's transmission broke which meant his car could not accelerate on the restart.  With everyone ready to go behind him, the pile up started.  It was amazing!  There were 22 cars on the lead lap at the time and 18 were involved in the wreck.  Wow!  Here is the clip in case you missed it.

Amazing race and great finish -man I thought Larson was going to pull off the win.  Best race yet!
