The dollar does not go as far, inflation just keeps rising and the price at the pumps are putting a big hurt on American households even though we're all working as hard or harder than ever.

The US Census Bureau just released some data showing the US incomes have fallen to 1989 levels. In 1989 an average middle class household in 2011 dollars had an income of $50,624. Last year that same middle class household actually made less, and pocketed $50,054.
