I don't hide the fact that I'm a true crime junkie, especially when it's local. If you're the same way, you gotta find this Investigation Discovery episode examining a local crime.

Investigation Discovery is the best channel for true crime lovers like myself and every so often they come across one from this area and feature it. They aired a show last night called "Body Cam" about the murder of a 18-year-old Hudson Falls woman. "Body Cam" is a show that tells the story through footage captured from an officer's body-worn camera, according to the Times Union.

In this episode, they show what Washington County officers saw as they approached a fire in 2017. Sadly, 18-year-old Ashley Coltrain was trapped inside and died. Her boyfriend, Derrick Guilder, was charged with the teen's death. Apparently, Guilder had intended to die in the fire but had second thoughts and escaped. Guilder ended up leaving Coltrain locked in a bedroom, unable to escape. You can watch the case as well as the investigation that followed On-Demand or on December 18th at 11:00PM.

Coltrain was a graduate of Hudson Falls High School, worked at Great Escape and Splashwater Kingdom and was enrolled in SUNY Adirondack.
