The government is recalling thousands of dehumidifiers for the second time this year because they cause house fires.  The Consumer Product Safety Commission says LG Electronics Tianjin Appliances Co. is believed to be responsible.  About 98,000 dehumidifiers are now being recalled because the power connector for the machine’s compressor can short-circuit and catch fire.

The specific dehumidifier involved is the Goldstar & Comfort-Aire dehumidifier.  This is the second time the dehumidifiers have been recalled.  The first recall was back in Decemember 2009 after four significant fires resulted from use of a particular company's product.  If you own a dehumidifier from LG Electronics, you can call the company at 877-220-0479 for more information.
