It's amazing what some of the country artists do in their off hours.  One such example is our friend Darius Rucker.  I have crowned him the "Pay it forward" artist of the day!

It's called the Home Grown Roundup, and it's purpose is to give school supplies to children who can't afford it.  According to Live5News.com this event starring a reconvened "Hootie and the Blowfish" provide school supplies to nine school districts in the Charleston area.

It's a fantastic idea.  Hootie and the Blowfish put on a concert, and the admission fee is school supplies!  Pencils, paper, backpacks, crayons etc.

Here's a promo for it, although the concert already happened.

Isn't it amazing that this YouTube video got hardly any "hits", yet I can't wait to see how many people will click on Miley Cyrus' inane, over the top prancing on stage.

Hey - that kind of stuff will ALWAYS get more attention, let's face it.  I could hardly even find anything about this project after seeing it on the news last nite.  I guess that shows you the type of guy that Darius Rucker is - he doesn't do this to get a pat on the back.  It's just his way of giving back, and I wanted to bring this up to show you that!
