In 2014 the FBI and Homeland Security ran first responders through training for a similar situation, and by all accounts they were well prepared and ready to deal with the situation today.

Imagine how scary it must have been being at the Crossgates Mall today. But imagine the great comfort the amazing response by our first responders must have provided. By all accounts I have read today, our Police responded swiftly and were well prepared to deal with the situation at hand. At this point, there are no reports of any injuries - which is great news to come out of a scary scenario.

And 2 years ago, our first responders trained for a similar scenario. If you go back to this old story in the Troy Record, the FBI and Homeland Security ran our local first responders through training for a 'Complex Mall Attack .' The goal was to get them prepared for such a scenario, and today they responded! And from what I have heard mall employees were also ready to roll, acting swiftly to get everyone in safe places during the lockdown.
