It seems once Crossgates Mall announces something new, they're already working towards the next one. This morning was the ribbon cutting for their next big add right near Dave & Busters.

In attendance this morning were NYS Senator George Amedore, Michael Gately (GM of Crossgates Mall), Albany County Executive Daniel McCoy, Town of Guilderland Supervisor Peter Barber, Alliance for Clean Energy New York,

John Cole (Owner of Cole's Collision Centers), and representatives of Tesla for the largest Northeast Supercharger ribbon cutting.

This Supercharger has 20 stalls and highlights not only Tesla but New York's commitment to growing the usage of electric vehicles while supporting local businesses. This morning, Senator George Amedore discussed the environmental benefits of electric cars as well as the wish to expand access to zero-emission vehicles.

It may not mean much now, but it's great for the future of electric cars. According to the Times Union, one charge can provide enough power for a Tesla vehicle to drive up to 335 miles and it only takes 30 minutes. Tesla already had a much smaller model at Colonie Center, one of the first, but now they're adding more throughout the country. Hopefully, this will lead to more electric cars being used in the Capital Region.

The owner of Cole's Collision Center is John Cole. A previously published version of this post mistakenly referred to him as 'Josh' Cole.
