Craig made a special visit to the Lake George firehouse on Saturday before his show at Charles R. Wood Park.

According to the Post Star, Craig donated 250 smoke detectors as part of the Step Up and Stand Out campaign 'to raise awareness about the need for volunteer firefighters.'

The event was open to the community and Craig spent some time talking about this important cause. Craig himself is a US Army veteran and a first responder, so this is a cause that is near and dear to him.

Ya gotta love it when country stars come to our communities and give back. More than any other musical genre, they are connected to the communities they visit and try to give back any time they can.  I mean, have you ever noticed artists at the Grammy's thanking the fans?  Yeah, maybe sometimes. Country artists do it ALL the time, and things like this show they really do care.
