It's Summer time and it's almost July so that means that many fairs will be starting up before you know it. I love going to a county fair. I love the rides. I love the food, especially the  Fried Dough. Most of all, I love all the great entertainment that is provided at all the area fairs. Whether it's a local or national act, it's always nice to get out and enjoy the atmosphere and soak in the great tunes.

One of the first fairs of the year is the Saratoga County Fair in Ballston Spa. It runs July 19th -24. Our good friends and area favorites the Hillbilly Horns will be perfoming  on the 21st. You can also see them perform later this week perfoming at Alive at Five.

The Altamont fair comes rolling in August 16th-21st. Countryfest Openers The Back 40 Band will be hitting the Reid Northrup Stage on the 19th at 6 and 8p. The Altamont fairgrounds, of course, is where Countryfest 2011 will be taking place.

The Dutchess County Fair runs August 23rd-28th in Rhinebeck and always brings in some big name national acts. This year is no different with Travis Tritt Performing on the 23rd, Kellie Pickler on the 25th and Uncle Kracker on the 26th.

Kellie Pickler will make a second fair stop in the area as she will be performing at the Fonda Fair which runs August 30th-September 5th. Kellie will be taking the stage on Sept. 3rd.

The Columbia County Fair comes your way August 31st-September 5th in Chatam. The Hot and Young Quartet Glorianna comprised of brothers Mike and Tom Gossin, Cheyenne Kimball and Rachel Reinert will be there on Sept. 3rd for two shows at 3pm and 8pm. Mike and Tom actually grew up not too fair away from here in Utica.

Finally we have the Schaghticoke Fair, which also runs from August 31st-September 5th. This years entertainment will be The Kentucky Headhunters. This CMA and Grammy award winning group will break out the classics "Dumas Walker", "Walk Softly On This Heart Of Mine" and Oh, Lonesome Me".  Our own Marshall Dylan as always will be your host!

So if you love some good country music, there will be alot of it coming to a county fair near you!
