Every weekday, around 11:30am, we test your knowledge of Country Trivia on GNA 107.7. Today, we honor the group that originally recorded the Brooks and Dunn smash 'Boot Scootin' Boogie.'

Asleep at the Wheel originally recorded 'Boot Scootin' Boogie' in 1990 for an album titled Keepin' Me Up Nights.  However, the song never found it's way to radio. The song was later released by Brooks and Dunn, from their debut album in 1992, and it shuffled it's way to No. 1 and helped kick-off the '90s line dance craze.

Asleep at the Wheel continues to record and tour after winning nine Grammy Awards and gaining a large and loyal following based out of Texas.  Their biggest hits include 'The Letter That Johnny Walker Red' 'Boogie Back To Texas' 'House Of Blue Lights' and two critically acclaimed Bob Wills tribute albums featuring western-swing classics like 'Corine, Corrina' and 'Take Me Back To Tulsa.'

The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band will join Asleep at the Wheel at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall on Thursday, September 27, 2012.  Click Here for more info and other fall concerts coming to the Albany Area.
