Let’s take a look at some other Grammy nominees. Along with Lady A being in the running for song of the year is The House That Built Me, by Miranda Lambert.

She will also be in the “Best Country Song and “Album” categories against Lady A.

Another one for Miranda is “Best Female Country Vocal Performance. In that category, Miranda will be up against Jewel, Gretchen Wilson, Leann Rimes and Carrie Underwood, for her song “Temporary Home”.

“Best Male Country Vocal Performance” will include Jamey Johnson (“Macon”), Toby Keith (“Cryin’ For Me (Wayman’s Song)”), David Nail (“Turning Home”), Keith Urban (“’Til Summer Comes Around”) and Chris Young (“Getting’ You Home”).

For the “Best Country Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals” (Lady Antebellum, of course), Little Big Town, the SteelDrivers, Dailey & Vincent Sing The Statler Brothers and Zac Brown Band for “Free”.

Zac Brown Band is also in the running for Best Country Collaboration With Vocals for  “As She’s Walking Away”, as they teamed up with Alan Jackson. One of the competitors on this is “Hillbilly Bone”, with Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins.

For “The Best Country Song”, we’ll see if  the king, George Strait will beat out, Zac Brown Band, Miranda Lambert, Gretchen Wilson, The Band Perry and Lady Antebellum, with his song “The Breath You Take”.

And then the “Best Country Album.”, we have Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley, Zac Brown Band, Lady A and Jamey Johnson with his album, “The Guitar Song”

So it looks like it could be an interesting awards show for country music.
