Country Idol Reunion – Lisa Middleton

The stars of GNA’s Country Idol are reuniting for a free concert at Vapor in Saratoga Casino and Raceway on Oct. 10 at 7 p.m.

The 2013 Country Idol Reunion Concert will feature a mix of winners and two-time finalists who have appeared at WGNA’s $5,000 Country Idol Competition from 2011-2013.

Q: What year did you participate in Country Idol?

A: Participated in 2012 and 2013.

Q: What did you take away from your Country Idol experience?

A: There is a LOT of talent in this area and that country fans are warm and appreciative and supportive. I love to perform, and this forum allowed me to prove to people, including myself, that it doesn't matter how old you are or your background... good music is good music. And it's nice for us singers to be recognized for our efforts. I don't get to socialize a lot with my job... this night allows me to be myself and make some friends.

Q: Advice to future contestants?

A: Don't think about the outcome. Winning isn't everything. Sure it would be nice, but if you're only focused on that, how can you truly enjoy yourself and the people around you? Sing what you love. Sing with all your heart and let loose and have a good time y'all! The audience will support you no matter what the judges say. Good memories are worth more than money.
