1994-  The Super Bowl goes Country with a Nashville halftime show.  Clint Black, Travis Tritt, Tanya Tucker and The Judds bring Country Music to the masses and Dallas beats Buffalo, 30-13.

1972-  Kris Kristofferson lands Grammy nominations as a songwriter for three songs: "Help Me Make It Through The Night," "Me And Bobby McGee" and "For The Good Times." Four artists are also nominated for performances of Kris Kristofferson songs.

Birthdays:

Tammy Cochran, 1970.  Tammy scores the emotional hit "Angels In Waiting," a tribute to her brothers who had died of Cystic Fibrosis.

Jeanne Pruett, 1937.  In 1973 she records a Country Classic, "Satin Sheets," and goes on to become a favorite of the Grand Ole Opry for many years.  Jeanne also serves up some popular Country Cookbooks, including "Satin Sweets."
