 The Headlines:

 2006- Carrie Underwood's first Country single "Jesus, Take The Wheel" collects a gold award for selling a half a million copies.  After winning American Idol, he record company releases "Inside Your Heaven" as her first single to pop radio.  Carrie, then pursues a full-time career in Country Music.

 1982-Kenny Rogers picks up three Pop and Country trophies at the American Music Awards.  At the time, he's the hottest star on Country and Pop radio with the hits "Through The Years" and "Love Will Turn You Around."  Willie Nelson, Barbara Mandrell, Anne Murray and The Oak Ridge Boys also win awards.
