It's been making waves over the last few months - the idea of a mile long gondola stretching from downtown Albany to the Amtrak train station in Rensselaer.

Is it a cool idea or is it crazy? Could it work? Could it draw tourism?

It still isn't set in stone, or um, sky just yet but this could be a stepping stone in that direction.

MacLaren Engineering has purchased a building in downtown Albany next to McGeary's Irish Pub. It wasn't in their original plans however, they decided it was a good investment for their firm.

They like that they're close to the state government resides and feel like this could be a step in the right direction given their recent buzz.

What do you think - could a gondola in downtown Albany work?
