In Albany, Washington Avenue Extension at Fuller Road will have a partial closure this Saturday and Sunday, because of some construction on the Albany NanoTech Building.

The part of the road that will be closed will be between Fuller Road and the Crossgates Mall Entrance. This is because there's a bridge that will connect the old building with the new building, which is in the process of being built.

If you have been in the area, you know that the construction can create some traffic headaches. All the construction is because of some traffic pattern changes with the installation of a rotary. According to the Albany County Of Public Works website, all of the construction is supposed to "decrease traffic congestion at the existing signalized intersection, to improve both pedestrian and bicycle access through the intersection."

If you're planning on heading to Crossgates Mall or Crossgates Commons from Albany, and you usually take Washington Avenue Extension, you may want to go to the Northway, and use the Crossgates Mall Road exit, or go to Western Avenue and use that entrance for the mall.
