I never thought that politics could ever mingle with Nascar. Well, it's happened. Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy is asking Fox TV Network to not air this weekend's Nascar race which will be held at Texas Motor Speedway. The race is the NRA 500 and the Senator believes that the current gun control debate in Washington should be taken into consideration. He says the race will be "a celebration of guns" and according to this story from CBS he also says the the race is:

"inappropriate" in the wake of the shootings and argued that "broadcasting this race, which will highlight the NRA and its radical agenda during this time, sends a harmful signal to the families affected by gun violence, as well as the millions of Americans who support sensible gun control measures and enjoy your sports programming."
