Kathy Griffin sounded desperate and angst ridden as she begged for forgiveness after an "artistic" photograph was published of her holding the the severed, bloody head of Donald Trump. For most it was too gruesome to be taken lightly and (as we predicted on the morning show today) less than 24 hours after the picture buzzed on the internet, Griffin was fired by employer CNN.

Hindsight is always 20/20 and surely if Griffin could do it all over again, she would have never done the grizzly and offensive photoshoot with famed photgrapher Tyler Fields. Even in the world of do-overs and free speech, this was a terrible idea. How was pretending to have killed the President ever a good idea?  Pain and simple: Griffin is a "played out" comic trying to make a name for herself by going the shock route, a sure sign of desperation.  It backfired, and now she's fired.

Griffin will no longer be hosting CNN's New Years countdown with Anderson Cooper and according to reports hotels have cancelled comedy shows.  Kathy Griffin will make the rounds, cry on television, continue to offer up an excuse, and in a few years most, if not all will be forgiven.  That's how the business works.

But for now, in the words of one Donald J Trump; You're Fired!
