The CMA Awards turn 50 in 2016, and they've released a trailer for what is shaping up to be a very special anniversary.

"Next year is the Golden Anniversary of the CMA Awards," Carrie Underwood says on the CMA's website.

"That means it's 50," her longtime CMA Awards co-host, Brad Paisley, adds, "but with all the work it's had done, it doesn't look it."

The trailer above features some of the memorable moments from the awards show over the years, and hints at what the Country Music Association has in store for the year ahead. "The biggest anniversary of country music's biggest night cannot be contained into just one night," a caption proclaims. "Join us for a year-long celebration of the laughter, the tears, the music, the moments that shaped our lives for the past 50 years and made country music America's music."

The clip contains audio highlights from some of country' biggest stars, including a funny bit from Garth Brooks in 1991, when then-President George H.W. Bush was in attendance. "I love my Georges — George Strait and George Jones. Thank you guys ... no offense, Mr. President," Brooks says.

There are also emotional moments from Reba McEntire, Vince Gill and Alison Krauss, as well as a 2007 sound byte from a teenaged Taylor Swift, who tearfully exclaims, "This is definitely the highlight of my senior year!"

The annual CMA Awards bring together the biggest movers and shakers in the country music community to celebrate the year's highest achievements in recording, songwriting, videos and more, featuring one-of-a-kind performances and drawing the biggest viewership of any country music event of the year. No details have been announced for the 2016 CMA Awards.
