The CMA Awards show performances are usually dominated by the hot young acts of Country Music. However, two legends have been invited to perform at the 2013 awards to pay tribute to a Country Music Hall of Famer.

Alan Jackson and George Strait will perform a special tribute to George Jones live on the CMA Awards on Wednesday, November 6 on ABC. The collaboration will no doubt be one of the most moving performances in CMA Awards show history. Jones passed in April while on his Farewell trek called The Grand Tour. Alan Jackson is pictured above at the Private Visitation for George Jones, with Nancy Jones and Denise Jackson by his side.

Another tribute to George Jones will happen at the Bridgestone Arena on Thursday, November 22, 2013 on what was supposed to be the final Nashville show of his career. Dozens of stars, including Alan Jackson and George Strait, will be on hand for that monumental musical event honoring the late George Jones.
