Clifton Park May Be Getting A New Supermarket

Clifton Park may be getting a new supermarket.

There’s a plan that a commercial developer, Nigro Companies, filed to build a new mall and a Price Chopper.

In the story from The Times Union, if it’s approved, it would be built at the intersection of Route 146 and Route 146A. The plan is to replace and close the Price Chopper that’s sort of across the street from the existing store (on Vischer Ferry Road), and make it bigger.

The plan also includes adding other businesses to the new mall. They also would redesign the area of the store for traffic patterns and pedestrians at the four way intersection. Everything should get the town’s approval within 30 days.

I don’t think that the building of the new Price Chopper will be  as controversial as the one that’s being built in Watervliet.
