Chris Stapleton Announces Free Hometown Concert
Chris Stapleton may be a multi-Grammy winner, but he hasn't forgetten his roots. The singer has announced a free concert in his home state.
According to WSAZ, Stapleton will perform at Johnson Central High School in Paintsville, Ky., on March 24 at 7PM. The singer is from Staffordsville, located in Johnson Country, just minutes from where his free show will take place.
Stapleton's free concert is being presented by Ram Trucks, as part of its partnership with Stapleton, who is also a Ram Truck owner. Tickets were available shortly after the show was announced on Monday (March 14), but as of publish time, the event's website states that "due to an overwhelming response, tickets are no longer available for this event."
It's no surprise that people from Stapleton's hometown and the surrounding areas are eager to see the artist play: He's gone quickly from a well-known songwriter to an absolute superstar. The singer's debut solo record, Traveller, helped him win big at the CMA Awards in November, and he also recently won two Grammys, for Best Country Solo Performance and Best Country Album.
Stapleton won't be able to enjoy the time in his hometown for too long, however. He is currently on the road and will be joining up with Hank Williams Jr. late this summer for a joint trek. Fans can visit his website for upcoming tour dates.
