Choking Man Saved By Off Duty EMS Assistant Chief

A lot of people tend to take their work home with them, but in this case, it was a life saver for someone.

Paul Fink is an Assistant Chief for Colonie E.M.S. and has been a paramedic since 1975. He was out with his wife at a restaurant when something happened to a man that was also dining in the restaurant. According to the story from CBS 6 Albany, the man started choking on food, and that’s when Fink went into action. He performed the Heimlich Maneuver.

Because of Assistant Chief Fink’s quick action, it dislodged the food and saved the man’s life.
