If you have ever had to put a child seat in your car, there is always the questions of if it's tight enough or in the correct way. You can never be too safe. Well across the state in August, there are check points set up that can help you make sure they are secure. According to News 10 ABC, state and local law enforcement agencies across the state are holding more child safety seat inspections throughout the month of August. This is part of a year long initiative that offers free child seat inspections all done by certified child passenger safety technicians.

According to state officials, the leading cause of death in children ages 1 to 13 is car accidents.

August 1st : Albany County from 3:30pm to 6:30pm at the Voorheesville Farmer's Market at the United Methodist Church of Voorheesville. 68 Maple Ave in Voorheesville.

August 11th : Rensselaer County from 10am to 2pm at the Hoosick Falls Fire Department at 190 Main street in Hoosick Falls.
