possession of a sexual performance by a child.  Investigators found a video in a van he was driving and are trying to figure out if he made the video and if he used local underage girls.  The FBI has now joined the investigation with Troy police.

While his defense attorney, public defender William Roberts, contests the charges, police are looking for possible victims who had contact with Rafferty.  Roberts claims the video was not in plain sight at the very bottom of a garbage bag that police did not have authority to search.

Rafferty was arrested back in 2010 for picking up two girls after they got off the morning bus, with his van.  The girls were 14 and 16 years of age at the time.  Rafferty was charged with four counts of endangering the welfare of a child, according to the Times Union.

Troy police would like anyone who believes their child may have had contact with Rafferty, to call the police Special Investigation Unit  at 518-270-5854.
