Child Porn Charges Against Colonie Youth Swim Instructor

Police were responding to a noise complaint on Sunday and as they spoke to the man in question, they witnessed child pornography scrolling across his computer screen. This lead to his arrest.

The man, William Richard Moyer, 51 of New Scotland Avenue worked at the Rudy A. Ciccotti Family Recreation Center in Colonie giving swim lessons to children ages 3 to 15, according to officials. He faces being charged with one felony count of possessing sexual performance by a child.

As the investigation continues, more charges are expected, officials said.

During the interview process with Moyer, officials said he admitted to downloading child pornography over the internet for years.

Moyer was arraigned and ordered held on $20,000 bail.
