Song Parody

On some lists this is mentioned as one of the worst Christmas novelty songs of all time.  Sorry.  I respectfully disagree. Puts me in a better mood any time I hear it!  So for those who agree, here we go!:

I always enjoy it when I can get guest artists to help me with song parodies.  It's even more fun when they don't know about it.

Everybody!  Sing along!  Yes, once again a parody idea has surfaced.  But I feel so bad for the lady at the same time.  Should I do it?

I will admit, I wasn't TOTALLY into the holiday spirit until I met some great kids and a great teacher over at the Yates Magnet School in Schenectady!  They're a group that KNOWS what they like-especially when it comes to a list for Santa!

Time to give you some holiday haha's.  Let's start with the obvious one- Jeff Foxworthy's classic, "12 Redneck Days Of Christmas".  In each my upcoming articles featuring great holiday novelty songs, I will provide a little background about the artist first, cuz I'm that kind of guy...

Many people are doing their own cooking this Thanksgiving, and that's good.  But sometimes people forget the basics, and it becomes a complicated affair.  Well, being a master chef myself, I thought I'd help you (actually, I have the latest Reader's Digest, and I got the tips from them)

How do you calm your nerves while flying?  I don't know about you, but I stare intently at the Skymall Magazine (in the seat pocket in front of you) and tried to make a song out of it.  This was actually composed while on a 10 hour flight from Rome to Philadelphia (I need a life really bad!)

This song is something I have not played on the air.  This is my very first online only song. I thought it was especially fitting,  being that this ditty is about getting ripped off online!  I am literally steaming mad.  I haven't even told "you know who" yet, because I know he'll rib me about it on the air, and I'm a little sensitive right now.

It started on Wall Street.  It could possibly coming to State Street, Albany!  The Occupy Movement is definitely spreading.  It's a highly charged issue, to be sure.  But if you're a listener to our show, I think you know by now that we try to touch on everything, so here goes!

How I stumbled upon this, don't even ask!  You know how it happens.  You go looking for information about Amsterdam, NY because you want to write a theme song for it on Thursday (see what I did there?), and you end up finding this-Lady Antebellum joking around in the studio, writing song parodies!

Doesn't it stink when everyone's watching a TV show that you're not?  It happens to me more and more. Not whining here, but when you get up at 4am every day, how can you physically keep up with 800 channels of programming that really doesn't show the good stuff until after 9PM?  Call me weird, but I like a litle more than 5 hours of sleep a nite! But I guess I'm going to have to change my ways! Re

Casey Danton, our illustrious newsperson is one busy lady.  Trying to compile all of goings on is a tough job. She can't possibly cover all of the stories that come across her desk (plus there's no room for them with all those shoe boxes in the way from her latest shopping trip)...
