Saratoga Restaurant Sells Out Of ‘Cuomo Chips’
You couldn't go anywhere over the weekend without hearing someone mention "Cuomo Chips", the inexpensive menu item added recently to Harvey's in Saratoga. The cheap chips became a hit after the Governor announced last week that in order to for customers to drink at a bar or restaurant, it must be accompanied by some sort of food order as well. The low-cost chips were such a hit, that the

Local Restaurant Bites Back at Latest Cuomo Mandate
The ever-changing world of pandemic and social distancing rules threw us a bit of a curve ball yesterday during the Governor's press conference.  The latest mandate from Cuomo states that restaurants may not serve alcohol to customers unless they buy food.   Restaurants quickly found a "loophole" in the latest Cuomo mandate and one place in Saratoga may have set a trend for other restaur

As pressure builds for professional sports teams like the Washington Redskins to change their longtime team name or nickname, local high schools could be facing the same kind of change.  Many schools in the Capital Region have nicknames or mascots that are linked directly to Native American heritage and it's possible that schools such as Colonie, Corinth and Ravena to name a few, could be nixing t

Love Cowboy on Phase 3: “We’ve Tamed The Beast!”
Love Cowboy rolled into the GNA studios on Wednesday happier than a pig in mud about the opening of Phase 3 here in the Capital Region.  In fact, he was so overjoyed that asked us if he could not even do relationship advice so that he could share with us what he was most excited about. As always, LC had plenty to say.  He talked about indoor seating at restaurants, mani-pedi's, tanning salons and

Albany’s Lark St. is Talking, Are You Listening?
Tuesday afternoon, my phone started blowing up with text messages from people asking me if I had seen what they were painting on Lark Street.   Somewhat embarrassed, I admitted that I hadn't.  I live off of Lark Street in Albany, just a few blocks from where city workers were out in the heat since 9AM with boards, heavy machinery, and lots of blood, sweat and tears painting "Black Lives Matte

Phase one has opened in the Capital Region and there might be some confusion about what that means.  We're not saying that Love Cowboy can help, but he will "attempt" to clear some of the uncertainty in regards to things that are open, operable and back in business.  As usual, what the Love Cowboy actually knows is completely different from what he thinks he knows, but here goes.  Here a

Tyra in Niskayuna writes: My husband has always been someone who keeps an eye in politics, and certainly has his opinions.  Until now, it's never got in the way of our relationship.  I have my views and he has his, but during the pandemic things have changed.  I feel like many of our discussions about safety protocol and social distancing have turned political an nasty.  Is this common and how can

While a recent Siena College poll determined that 87% of people think that Governor Cuomo is doing a good job handling the coronavirus pandemic, there are many who disagree with that.  Some of those people think that the pandemic has been greatly exaggerated, and they plan to voice their frustration by creating a scene and gridlock around Albany's State Capital Building on Wednesday.

It was announced on Monday by New York governor Andrew Cuomo that New York state has begun making it's very own hand "superior" sanitizer.  New York prisoners are fast at work making a product called NYS Clean as a way to combat the high costs and lack of availability of certain cleaning agents amid the coronavirus threat.  Some people have questioned whether or not this is a good idea.
