November 19, 2012 Little Big Town has had a well-deserved year of hits and awards. The quartet released their first national record about 13 years ago, and now in 2012 they've finally nabbed their first CMA award, their first No. 1 hit, and now another new smash on Country Radio, 'Tornado.'
Song lyrics can stem from just about anywhere. Just ask songwriters Natalie Hemby and Delta Maid, who got together and knocked out Little Big Town's 'Tornado' lyrics. The song is the band's current single and the title track to their brand new album.
Little Big Town's 'Pontoon' may have just come off the top of the country singles chart, but the group wasted no time diving into celebration mode. Last Friday evening (Sept. 21) -- the last official day of summer -- Kimberly Schlapman, Karen Fairchild, Phillip Sweet and Jimi Westbrook gathered with friends, family and industry peers atop BMI's rooftop for a big blowout celebrating their very first trip to the top of the charts.

As the genre pendulums between pop and traditional trends, Phillip Sweet, Kimberly Schlapman, Karen Fairchild and Jimi Westbrook have never compromised their unique harmonies or blunted their sharp, descriptive lyrics. They've stayed true to a scenic winding road built just for them, even if at times it took them out of public eye for a bit.
As anticipated, Little Big Town‘s summertime anthem, ‘Pontoon,’ has officially been certified platinum for digital downloads exceeding one million copies sold. The tune was an instant smash for the four-piece group following its release, and it has also become the highest-charting single of their career.

There is a new Showdown champion! The voting went down to the final minutes last night on Taste of Country Nights radio, with Carrie Underwood‘s ‘Blown Away’ topping ‘Over’ by Blake Shelton. Early online voting proved to be critical to Underwood’s success, as she was able to hold off rallying Shelton fans. The dark and stormy title-track from the normally sweet and innocent singer’s new album will now face a song by one of Nashville’s hottest foursomes.

Little Big Town will perform pre- and post-race concerts at the 34th annual Budweiser Shootout on Saturday, February 18 at the Daytona International Speedway as NASCAR kicks off the 2012 racing season. The group is known for such hits as "Boondocks," "Bring It On Home" and "Little White Church."
