Countryfest's Thompson Square has had an incredible journey over the past few years. The duo met at a Nashville karaoke bar, landed a record deal, got married, scored a No. 1 hit with 'Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not,' won a few awards and now continue to see their family grow.
Everyone has their own reasons to be excited for Countryfest on July 7th. I think it is going to be an incredible day of fun for everyone. I am so looking forward to breakfast at Savannah's, oh how I enjoy a mimosa in the morning. Then there is the great block party with all the incredible local bands, vendors, beer and food and that's free!
I've had the honor of attending every WGNA Countfryfest since it's debut in 1994 with Travis Tritt and Joe Diffie. As we approach Countryfest 2012 with Eric Church and Joe Nichols, I thought it would be fun to list my Top 10 favorite Countryfest acts of all-time.

In 2006, when Eric Church was getting his career started he landed the dream gig of opening for Rascal Flatts on the 'Me and My Gang' tour. However, he wouldn't be with them very long!
WGNA's Countryfest has always been known to feature the best new talent next to the superstars of Country Music. On the 2012 line-up, we see newcomer Josh Thompson. Thompson has already made a splash on the charts with 'Beer On The Table' 'Won't Be Lonely Long' and his big hit 'Way Out Here.'
Joe Nichols who is one of the best traditional voices in country music will be bringing his many hits to 1077 'GNA's Countryfest 2012 on July 7th at the Times Union Center.
