Carrie Underwood fans in Atlanta, Ga., got an exclusive opportunity to hear the star sing her most recent single “Smoke Break” live this weekend when the artist put on a surprise show for an episode of the CMT series Instant Jam.

A small group of lucky fans nabbed coveted wristbands Friday morning (Sept. 18) after the announcement was made, and in less than 3.5 hours, the show was sold out, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Underwood played an intimate venue in Atlanta called Variety Playhouse and treated the audience to a special 10-song set, including “Smoke Break,” “Something in the Water,” “Before He Cheats,” and “Wasted.”

“I think I must be the luckiest person on the planet sometimes because I get to do this,” the star told the crowd. “And I never thought I’d be on a stage like this in front of amazing people like you guys. Please know how grateful and thankful I am.”

Fans unable to see the performance live will be able to catch it on Instant Jam Oct. 17 at 10PM ET on CMT.

Underwood’s much-anticipated new record, Storyteller, is set for release Oct. 23. The singer-songwriter was also recently announced as one of the headliners at the 2015 Apple Music Festival in London, which will be broadcast live and available to stream afterward. Underwood’s performance airs Monday, Sept. 21 — she will be the first country artist to headline one of Apple's annual festival performances.

She also recently performed “Smoke Break” on the Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, then took the time to help the host out with his punting game and give a little more detail on that whole locked-baby-in-the-car incident.
