Thanksgiving is over and we're now going full force into the Christmas season. One of my favorite things to do to kick off the season is going to a tree lighting. There are a ton happening right here in the Capital Region, take a look.

The televised tree lighting from Rockefeller Center, New York City will be on November 29th on NBC. New York Upstate made a list of all of the places in Upstate New York that have tree lightings and where you can see them but I broke it down to the Capital Region.

Albany: Empire State Plaza on Sunday, December 3rd from 1:00PM-8:00PM with a chance to meet Santa, go ice skating, and live music by Moriah Formica. Tree lighting ceremony begins at 5:15PM and ends with fireworks.

Amsterdam: City of Amsterdam Mohawk Valley Gateway Outlook on Friday, November 24th at 4:00PM-8:00PM with horse carriage rides, holiday music, and pictures with Santa.

Ballston Spa: Milton Avenue on Friday, December 1st at 6:30PM-9:00PM with the parade starting right at 6:30PM.

Cohoes: Sillman Park on Saturday, November 25th at 5:00PM-7:00PM is the Christmas Tree Lighting with music, food, and a visit from Santa.

Fulton: Fulton Municipal Building on Thursday, December 7th at 5:00PM with arts & crafts, hot chocolate, and pictures with Santa & Mrs. Claus

Niskayuna: Gazebo at Town Hall on Sunday, December 3rd at 5:30PM-6:30PM with hot chocolate, cookies and a toy donation spot for Toys for Tots.

Schenectady: Upper Union Street on November 25th at 4:00PM with caroling, music, refreshments, and of course Santa Claus.

Troy: Downtown on Sunday, December 3rd at 11:00AM-5:00PM is the 34th Troy Victorian Stroll with more than 100 live performances with Monument Square lighting up in the shape of a Christmas tree.
