Cap’n Crunch Sailing Away
I couldn’t believe this when I saw it. No more Cap’n. Crunch. You know, the breakfast cereal. At one time, it was my favorite cereal.

It was first brought to our breakfast tables in 1963. Health experts have been criticizing the Cap’n. for a long time about it’s high sugar content. (But that’s what made it so good) The cereal isn’t being actively marketed anymore, by Quaker and parent company PepsiCo. A while back, they stopped marketing to children. This is a big thing especially with America’s fight against obesity.
When I first heard about losing the Cap’n, I thought I really need to check it out. As I read the article from the Lifeinc from NBC, I got the impression that they were just not going to advertise Cap’n Crunch. So I did a little more investigating by checking the website of the two biggest markets in our area: The Hannaford website and the Price Chopper site. Neither store had it when I searched.
We’ll have to check the isles of the markets next time we go shopping. If Cap’n Crunch is discontinued, then it’s the end of an era. Can you think of any other cereals that are no longer around?
